Slides and Podcasts of Course Lectures

In most cases, I will record my voice (and maybe yours, so watch it!) during the class session. These recordings will be made available through a podcast channel on the University System of Georgia's podcasting server. The title link in the podcast section is a link to the USG podcasting server. Clicking it will attempt to start iTunes on your computer and subscribe to the "channel" that has the lectures for this course.

If, for some reason, clicking on the title link doesn't work, right-click the link and select "Copy shortcut" (Internet Exploder) or "Copy link location" (Firefox.) Then open iTunes on your computer, click the "Advanced" tab on the toolbar, select "Subscribe to podcast," and paste the link you copied into the URL box. Click OK.

The podcast audio is provided on a best-efforts basis, and I do not guarantee that there will be audio for every class session. (But I'll try really hard.)

I'll upload the lecture slides as PDF files. You can display these online, or manage them using iTunes. Slides and podcasts are in the same podcasting channel. The PDF files are marked with a "book" icon in iTunes.

Note that you only need to subscribe once. As new episodes become available, iTunes will download them for you automagically.

You do not need an iPod to listen to the podcasts; you can do that with any Windows or Mac computer with speakers or headphones and the iTunes program. You can get iTunes free directly from Apple.

If you prefer not to use iTunes to manage these podcasts, there may be other programs that will serve you as well. However, I cannot provide technical support for them. (I can't provide support for iTunes, either, but it "just works" with the USG podcasting server.)

Using the slides and recordings online: You can view the slides and play the recordings online. From the "Slides and Podcasts" page, click the "play" link for the item you want. You will get a "black screen" while the material you requested is downloaded to your computer. Just be patient, OK? (Or use iTunes, which does the downloading in the background for you.)
